The Wandoan Coal Project is currently on hold.
Location
The Wandoan Coal Project is located in Queensland’s Surat Basin, 400 kilometres north-west of Brisbane.
Ownership
The project is a joint venture between Glencore’s Wandoan Holdings Pty Limited (87.5% ownership) and SCAP Wandoan Pty Ltd (12.5% ownership).

The Wandoan Coal Project applied for Mining Leases in 2007.
The project has environmental approvals from both the Queensland and Federal Governments. The environmental authority and mining leases were granted in 2017 by the Queensland Government.
A Progressive Rehabilitation and Closure Plan (PRCP) is a legislated requirement in Queensland under the Environmental Protection Act 1994.
The PRCP and supporting documents will be available to view after its submission on the DESI website.
